Firefighters were true professionals
The value of our volunteer fire department was confirmed to me at 3 a.m. Aug. 8, 2011.
I had a fire at my farmhouse on Route 191 in Plainfield
Township. Thanks to the men and women who represent the Plainfield Township and
Washington Township volunteers for fighting the fire and also Upper Nazareth
and Lower Mount Bethel for being there on standby with their tankers I was
spared total loss.
The response time was phenomenal, estimated at 20 minutes.
And, once the volunteers arrived they began to work in a highly professional
manner.
The location of the fire was immediately determined and an
action plan was implemented without delay. The volunteers worked as a team and
the situation was under control in no time.
Thanks to their outstanding efforts me and my tenants
avoided a serious loss of property and personal treasures.
The fire department volunteers are truly professional in
training and attitude. These folks are a tremendous resource to our
communities.
We need to support, encourage and thank them at every
opportunity. Also a huge thank you to the Red Cross for coming out and checking
to see if there was anything they could do for me or my tenants. They are truly
a dedicated and very helpful.
