Monday, August 8, 2011 - Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire that started early this morning at a home in Plainfield Township.

Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Greg Dawe said crews were summoned about 2 a.m. to a home at 1092 Bangor Road for a report of a fire. When crews got there, they found a fire in the attic, Dawe said.

Four adults were displaced from the home, which contained two apartments, according the to the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Crews were able to get the fire under control within 15 minutes and extinguish it within 30 minutes, Dawe said.

Dawe said the home was occupied at the time. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Dawe said. He would not say if it is being considered suspicious.
